Seeker Playlist

These are songs that sank so deeply into my mind when I was writing Seeker, that they became part of the fabric of the story.

What I listen to for writing isn’t necessarily what I listen to while driving in the car or what I put on while making dinner. For writing, what I listen to very specific to the mood of the piece, and the songs can be old or recent, and of lots of different genres. I pick and listen to whatever works, but songs tend to form themselves into coherent groups for each story.

Traveler Playlist

This playlist really feels like a soundtrack I’d expect to hear while reading Traveler.

Disruptor Playlist

The songs on this playlist are a bit more introspective and melancholy than those on the other playlists of this series. Maybe it was the experience of writing a last book in a long story that made this playlist more meditative.

The Young Dread Playlist

This playlist really feels like a soundtrack I’d expect to hear while reading The Young Dread. I’ve picked atmospheric tracks, some of which feel like they could play on repeat in the background of Maud’s life. Maud doesn’t listen to music, of course, so the songs I’ve chosen here evoke loneliness and action and vast spaces.
